Jackie & Joey’s Wedding

Weddings

June 11, 2019

I met Jackie and Joey when I photographed their youngest daughter, Amelia. After Jackie recognized that I was humming “Angel of Music” from Phantom of the Opera to Amelia, while settling her, I knew we’d get along!

When Jackie contacted me to ask me to photograph her wedding, I was so touched! After having done her newborn session, I knew this meant she loved my work, and also really enjoyed working with me! The biggest compliment I can ever receive is a referral, or anytime a client returns (which is often!)

Jackie & Joey married at The Grand Olympia in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

April 14 2019 arrived! This was a doubly anticipated day for me, as it was not only the wedding – but also the premier of Game of Thrones eight season.

Luckily, it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. And oh my, did it pour!! Jackie and Joey, being the ever positive couple I know took it in stride. Clearly, their love for each other shone bright.. they weren’t going to let some rain put a damper on their day!

At the wedding, Jackie and Joey explained the answer to a question a lot of their guests had – why choose April to get married, in Canada? The weather is almost always cold, raining and sometimes there’s even snow. They explained the significance of the snowflake, in their relationship, and I hope you have some kleenex handy!

When Joey and Jackie first started dating – it was wintertime. They also shared their first kisses in the snow. This couple has been through blood clots, cancer, and a long distance relationship. But, that never got in their way. True to tradition – Joey proposed in the winter and thus bloomed a marriage as beautiful and unique as the snowflake.
